Kikori & yuzuri at EPLP

What was the inspiration behind this cocktail?

I’m always just trying to make people happy. People inspire me; I want to introduce them to new flavors.

What is your favorite element?

Definitely the Kikori. It’s a really nice whiskey, you can go a lot of different ways with it. From an old fashioned to a fruity cocktail or a stirred cocktail, in this case.

Where do you find inspiration when thinking of new cocktail recipes?

Food, food inspires me a lot. Any amazing chefs, like Grant Achatz or Jordan Kahn, or even restaurants, like Eleven Madison Park or Chef’s Table. People that are so creative with food inspire me; I want to get as equally creative with cocktails.

What do you think is unique about Kikori?

Kikori is unique in that you can go anywhere with it. From a strong cocktail to fruity, the rice whiskey has great notes to it and can go anywhere you want it to.

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not here?

Baseball, my first love.

Where is your favorite place to enjoy a cocktail?

A bar. Any nice bar or restaurant with a good atmosphere.
